Gladly Network debuts its new show with Episode 1, “Doing Good, Laughing Often,” an unscripted conversation about building companies that bless lives.
Gladly Network announced the launch of Glad You Asked, a new podcast hosted by Brandon Sherwood, Gladly Network President and Founder, and Jamie Bennion, former Green Bay Packers coach and Gladly’s Director of Impact. The show opens with Episode 1, “Doing Good, Laughing Often,” now live on YouTube, Spotify, and Spreaker. A companion launch article on Gladly Network expands on the conversation and the story behind the show.
Why Glad You Asked Was Started
Episode 1 introduces the purpose behind the podcast and the broader Gladly Network mission. The hosts recorded the launch conversation without a script or polish, aiming for an honest, human-first tone. In the episode, they explain why they believe business can be profitable and purposeful without drifting into hustle culture or performative startup talk.
The “Grumpy Old Man” Who Wants to Bless Lives
Sherwood calls himself a “grumpy old man” at 40 and jokes that his wife says he has “resting grump face.” He has built his career in the dental scrap and RV industries and often leans into the humor of that background. At the same time, he frames his motivation in deeply personal terms.
“I actually genuinely care for people. I may not want to be around them sometimes or a lot of the time, but I really do like our emphasis on blessing lives,” he says in the episode.
Why Bennion Joined the Project
That mission also shaped Bennion’s decision to join the project. When Sherwood first pitched Gladly, he said, “Here’s an idea that we’re going to go out and bless lives and try to make an impact and help people thrive.” Bennion’s response was equally direct: “It’s bold enough and sounds nuts enough that I think this is exactly where I’m supposed to be.”

What Gladly Network Is Building
Episode 1 also clarifies what Gladly Network is and is not. “It’s not gonna be coupons you’ll never use. It’s not an HR portal full of forms... It’s a network built on purpose,” the hosts explain. Gladly is positioning itself as a curated marketplace connecting people with brands that give back, introduced through relationships where trust already lives. The stated goal is to remove clutter and gimmicks and make good choices simple.
The Perspective Behind the Work
Perspective is another thread running through the episode, especially around work and identity. “It’s just not that important. Like, none of this, right? It’s all temporary. Something else is going to be important tomorrow,” Sherwood says. The hosts connect that mindset to Gladly’s approach of working smarter, living better, and treating work as something a person does, not who they are.
